Drink away the pain
By: Robert | October 4th, 2007
They gave it their all. FC Dallas outplayed the Revolution for long stretches of last night’s championship game and it still wasn’t enough. Our old faithful, the defensive lapse reared its ugly head for the nth time since September and once again we were unable to overcome ourselves. Oduro, Ruiz, Alvarez (he shot far post!) all played well but in the end FC Dallas came up short.
Where does this leave the Hoops? Well, the optimist in my mind believes that last night is a return to form; that was the best the team has looked in almost a month. But the pessimist in my typing fingers says that even at their best FC Dallas is still giving up two soft goals a game.
Which leads to this question, who is responsible for allowing all these sloppy goals? Is it the coach for not solving this problem or is it the players who routinely go into a form of light narcolepsy on the pitch and forget their assignments. I don’t know maybe its everybody; when Hoops are in poor form and dropping points that’s one thing, but when they out-play a side and still fail to lift the trophy there is little reason to believe this team can raise the MLS Cup this season.
*Sigh* This team has too much talent…but tonight in Dallas we drink away the pain because the FC stands for “fine cognac.”
HOOPS PRIDE!

“our old faithful, the defensive lapse” plays for RBNY also . . . the league should look into this.
