FC Dallas is a team full of Superheroes, seriously…somewhat

By: Robert | July 31st, 2007

I’ve spent a lot of time recently doing serious stuff and I never want to get too far from the silliness that I love to create from time-to-time. With that said I present to you the FC Dallas Justice league (except as the comic book nerds will point out these characters are not all from the DC Comic universe and thus technically can’t be “Justice League.”) They’re here to protect America from another Houston Dreamsicle title, save the league by promoting truth, justice and the FC Dallas way and teach kids about honor, responsibility and never diving in the box.

Juan Toja as the Human Torch
We’re enamored by his youthful exuberance, his joy for the game. He lights up the field with his play wherever he goes and even though he leads the league in fouls he’s in much more control of his abilities than it seems. And when he’s on fire…well, watch out.

Pablo Ricchetti as Spiderman
Opposing attackers must go all the way to the left or right sides of the field because when Pablo patrols the center he spins a web of defense that cannot be penetrated by any one or two and sometimes three men.

Dario Sala as Dr. Fate
Not the most famous hero ever, Dr. Fate, like Dario Sala, can do the laser beams and stuff like the other heroes but it is his intellect that separates him from the pack. No matter how dense the fog of war or how many attackers are in the box, Sala can survey the scene and put himself in position to make almost any save and deny almost any shot.

Dominic Oduro as the Flash
He can really only do one thing, but there may not be anyone else better at it. There isn’t a footrace Oduro can’t win or a defender Oduro can’t outrun. Defenses across the country (and now that we play in Superliga, in Mexico as well) fear his speed. They cede the ground in front of them in hopes he doesn’t get behind them and it doesn’t matter because he’s just too fast.

Drew Moor as Radioactive Man
We know he’s good, yet that’s about all we seem to know about the limits of Drew Moor’s abilities. We’ve seen highlights of his skills from time to time but like Springfield’s mythical savior we have no idea how truly good he really can be; the sky is the limit for Drew, so “Up and Atom.”

Carlos Ruiz as the grey Incredible Hulk
While the green Hulk may get all publicity, it’s the grey incarnation that’s most like our feared striker. Cunning, crafty and arrogant Carlos Ruiz stalks defenders for 90 minutes and if they try to frustrate him he gets stronger as he gets angrier; as the old saying goes “you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.”

Arturo Alvarez as Mr. Fantastic
There isn’t a move Arturo Alvarez can’t make, there isn’t a defender he can’t maneuver his body by; with an ability to squeeze through the tiniest of openings he’s our elastic fantastic.

Bobby Rhine as Darkwing Duck
He doesn’t have any superpowers, he doesn’t do anything special and if opponents plan correctly they can beat him but he never quits, he’s forever loyal and for the citizen’s of St. Canard he’s always there to help. (I wanted to use Captain America here, but then I remembered Claudio Reyna is Captain America and I didn’t want to encroach on his domain.)

There are ten more guys on the team, feel free to add your own if you want. I have just one request, no one uses Batman, I worked on the most recent Batman movie so it holds a special place with me.

Personal note: I know this page is very “busy,” I apologize, its the best I could do, I am no good when it comes to adding images. Also, still no luck in figuring out the problem with my home PC so no more posting from me till Friday (maybe Thursday, but probably not.) Until then remember that this is Dallas where the FC stands for our heroes “forever conquering” for our cause.

HOOPS PRIDE!

Nice. Extra points for the shamelessly nerdy use of the grey Hulk.
