Breaking News: Pearce to Chivas

I made the trek over to Frisco and Pizza Hut Park today to catch the scrimmage between FCD and Houston Baptist University, and overheard a bit of interesting news.  Heath Pearce, who didn’t participate in the scrimmage but did rehab a bit on the side, made his way down the line of teammates, informing them he had been traded to Chivas.  At first, to be honest, I thought he was blowing smoke, trying to get a rise out of his teammates.  (And in my defense, most of his teammates didn’t believe him at first.)  But he was adamant, and following the scrimmage, Captain Daniel Hernandez confirmed it to the team, wishing the Pearce family luck as they moved on to Chivas.

I have no idea who he was traded for, and it could be speculation…but it seemed pretty real to me. You heard it here first.

More on the FCD/HBU scrimmage coming later.  (They won…so that’s good news.)

Update (2:18pm CT): Chivas is saying the trade was for allocation money.
