draft thoughts…
By: Scott | January 20th, 2009Well I will be the first to admit when I am wrong. It seems as though Hitch and the bus driver have made some wise choices. Our back line looks a whole lot bigger and a whole lot more strong with the recent additions. DvB will give the offensive attack a punch it has been looking for. And with the rumored additions of some South American midfielders it looks to be an interesting season to say the least….
Now here comes the pesimist in me. The genius of putting this new team together is going to come when they actually put the team together. None of the pieces are better than the sum of their parts. Unfortunately this building project reeks of the front office building a team that can sell tickets. We will have to see if the biggest choice of last season can make this group of great players into a team….

How are any of these new signings and/or draft picks going to sell tickets? I’d say that signing Davino was meant to sell tickets (whoops) and that Oduro is a better draw than DvB.
If anything, it sounds like the “bus driver” is making more decisions than Hitch.
Then again, I’m the type of guy who would take a .500 team that sold out over a 3rd-5th place team that draws 8k fans a game. It just makes the whole game day experience that much better. Unfortunately, none of the recent signings have done either.

dvb was a badass for RBNY last year, finding a lightning pace striker from africa isnt that hard. if dvb can solidify the left like ronnie o’b used to run a wing, this team looks a lot better than with dom.
all we need now is a #10 and a true badass #10 and we are a title contender.

Hey I hope all that is true. I hope that the FO has finally figured out that selling tickets will come if the team wins.
As far as a number 10 is concerned. He has one that can play the position. Hes in florida.
