He was "the most expensive player in the world" at one point about ten years ago. I remember the hype for him being nearly as big as it was for Ronaldo (the fat Ronaldo, that is)a couple years earlier in the mid-90s. Despite his relatively disappointing career in Europe, he has always been very fun to watch so hopefully he'll be able to continue his pace-driven trickery here in MLS. Wow!
