The future….
By: Scott | January 13th, 2009Now that Schellas has his leader on the field I think the next move that the team makes is going to show where this team is going. This was the link that Schellas has said he was looking for. This was the link that was supposed to make this team his. Now if he goes out and gets another “older” player we can see just how short sighted this team is. If Hitch goes out and buys more “older” players my thought about the Jerry Jones school of building a team will be proven out. Take a look at the Cowboys season this year. A few injuries to key players and the season was gone. There were times when Tony Romo didnt know where he was for the amount of times that he w as on his back. I believe that if Hitch/Schellas does the same thing Dario isnt going to know what hit him. Last year we had to deal with Davino as our geritol player. See how well that worked out? Hes playing in league 2 in Mexico.
I am hoping that Schellas does the smart thing. When Bobby Rhine retired he lost a field general. I am hoping that he gets that back with Dave. I am hoping that Dave will be able to take all the GA players that we have and help mold them into soccer studs. I will admit to not being that familiar with Dave other than knowing that he was well liked and was the second best winger in the league in NY. So I am going to hold judgement till I see him play.
I just hope that in the process of making this team his…Schellas/Hitch doesnt gut the soul of this team any further than it already is.
